GAME INFO

Nafinian Nexus is a Pencil-and-Paper RPG game made by Alzoru Ledura because he's always wanted to play a game like that, but his parents wouldn't let him play D&D, so he made his own game. The Proto-version was going to play a lot like an Elder Scrolls game until he realized it would be way too complicated, and that he had no idea how to implement slowly gaining levels in different skills, so instead he went off his memory from the D&D handbook PDF and used that as a template, and for a long time the influence of the elder scrolls remained. From there, he finished up version 1.0, not realizing at first that there were several errors. These would get fixed in later updates. Current version: NNR Beta 1

Races

There are far more races in the game (especially now) than the Durakuni, and it's high time you learned about them! I will explain in some level of detail about the Durakuni and a good chunk of the game's other fabulous races, and maybe one day make pictures for all of them.

Durakuni

1. The Ordelaka. The Ordelaka are Anthropomorphic Western Dragons, one of the most widely recognized dragon types in the world. Strong, resilient, and full of pride, they often regard themselves as the "oldest and strongest" of the Durakuni. In reality, however, they are not the eldest race, that honor goes to the Wyrana. While definitely the strongest and one of the most durable, their arrogance makes them rather undesirable, and they aren't usually very smart.

2. The Munitara. Anthropomorphic Drakes, and one of the Ordelaka's closest relatives. While much smaller and lacking wings, these somewhat dainty people are highly sociable and friendly, as well as very smart. The Munitara invented many of Nafine's biggest technological wonders, such as the wheel, writing, pottery, and even artificial light in modern times.

3. The Lugani. The Eastern Dragon! Highly mystical and amazingly flexible, they are regarded as one of the smarter and wiser races, and as such are often given great respect. They are the only Durakuni to naturally grow fur, and are considered exotic because of it. Some other Durakuni consider them as not being true Durakuni because of the fur. They are physically rather weak and squishy.

4. The Wyveri. The common Wyvern, they often live in mountain communities. They are agile, and can glide on wind currents to master the skies. They are the smallest Durakuni race, but they are surprisingly strong-willed. They have wing-thumbs that allow them to grasp things, but not too well. They also have a small disadvantage in strength due to their stature and hollow bones.

5. The Wyrana. The true oldest race, they are semi-aquatic, able to breathe and live underwater and on land. Their limbs are very stubby and have little practical use, but they can endure very hot or very cold waters and are very agile, especially in water. While somewhat clumsy on land, and while generally physically weak, you do NOT want to fight one underwater, you will lose.

6. The Lynada. Relatives of the Wyrana that often live in deserts, they are believed to have once been venomous, and they have strong arms, though their legs are stubby and only really used for standing and a bit of walking. They are extremely swift and dexterous, but none too bright, and many of them are quite abrasive, leading to a bad reputation for the people of the race.

7. The Ampitera. (Coming in the NNR Extra Races Gude!)

8. The Ferati. (Coming in the NNR Extra Races Gude!)

9. The Nemani. (Coming in the NNR Extra Races Gude!)

Saurians

Divided into three groups now. Herbivore, Carnivore, and Omnivore. This is for the sake of brevity, though each one has at least one unique in-game feature allowing them to stand out a bit more.

Others

Humans, Kitsune, Elves, Dwarves, and more await you in the Nexus! And even more well be added in the NNR Extra Races Guide.

Classes

Classes are like jobs that your character can have. There are many of them included, some of which are exclusive to particular time periods. (Yes, the game actually has time periods) Barbarians, Witches, Mages, Wizards, Psions, Space Pirates, Terraformers, shamans, Knight Errants, Druids, and much more await you in Nafinian Nexus! While there are many D&D classes in game, not all of them are here, and some of the classes in this game are unique to it. In all, there are over 50 classes in the game.

Religions

Tons of gods and pantheons, most of which are my own creations, and others which are imports from D&D.

Mechanics

The game's mechanics are highly D&D inspired, but modified for a fresh and hopefully unique experience all its own. Combat, experience, and encounters are all included in the full game. And of course, it can be customized to your liking. The game is heavily reliant on dice and simple mathematics.

Homebrewing

Homebrewing should be fairly straightforward, once you understand the system!
